Job: Summer Bike Workshop Coordinator

The Deal: Santropol Roulant is seeking a high school or CÉGEP student to join their team as a Bike Workshop Coordinator this summer.

The co-ordinator will work alongside the Sustainability Coordinator and the Meals-on-Wheels (MOW) team to plan and coordinate the bike shop for two months of the summer 2011 season. You should be able to speak in English and French.

The Otesha Project

The Deal: The Otesha Project is looking for energetic people between the age of 18 - 30 to go on a cycling and performing tour. You'll get to travel around, connect with communities along the trip, and address environmental and social justice issues through daily actions. The Otesha Project is a national youth-run charity created in 2002 that uses theatre to mobilize youth to create change in their everyday choices.

+ DreamNow:  DreamNow and the Otesha Project have grown up together. We both started at a similar time and were working in the environmental movement in Ottawa at the time. They are a great group and everyone that either lives in the Otesha house or travels on one of their bike tours has great things to say.

Job: Athletes for Africa, Communication + Fundraising Positions

Athletes for Africa

Deadline: January 12, 2010

The Deal: Athletes for Africa is most well known for their yearly Gulu Walk which raises awareness about the night commutes of children in Northern Uganda. They also run yearly fundraiser/awareness building events such as soccer tournaments with indie rockstars from the likes of Broken Social Scene and Weezer competing against people like Michael Cera--- an all around good time. Currently they are looking for both a communications specialist and fundraising professional. The positions are based in Toronto.

+ DreamNow: Athletes for Africa is run by a friend of DreamNow's named Adrian Bradbury. We met him through the Walter and Duncan Gordon Foundation when he was named a Gordon Global Fellow in 2006.
