    Job: V.I.U. Sustainability Manager

    Vancouver Island University

    Deadline:     September 24th, 2009

    The Deal: This position is based out of a relatively new university that is located in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. The position is for a Sustainability Manager which means they will be responsible for developing policy, running climate change programs and monitoring the universities impact.  

    + DreamNow: If you are interested in this position you should make sure to check out the Sierra Youth Coalition's Sustainable Campuses program. Their program is the driving force behind a lot of the 'greening' work happening at university campuses across Canada and they are good friends of DreamNow.

    Conference: IYP Oxfam in India

    Oxfam Australia

    Deadline:     December 31st, 2009

    The Deal:  This is an amazing program and the international network to be involved in. The conference takes place in India, November of 2010 but it is more than a conference. Oxfam IYP is a three year program whereby you work with 300 hundred others from 100+ countries to build and support each other in developing community projects around the world. You will have access to funding, resources, and a network of support that is unparalleled. 

    +DreamNow: DreamNow participated in the 2003 conference in Sydney, Australia. It was actually one of the first places where the idea first came to life and was both nurtured and supported. The network is truly international and diverse and in our year included groups such as Cirque du Soleil du Mond, TakingitGlobal, Youth Action for Change, among hundreds of other inspiring grassroots projects.
